An Eye-Opener

Thank you God for everything.

Able to go for this first oversea mission trip is truly an eye-opener for me.As i'm packing my bags on the 18th Oct,i just ask God "What do you want me to do or learn in this mission trip?".Besides that,my mind was pack with work issues and that "kills" a bit of my excitement for the mission trip.From that time onwards,i have to learn to trust God that He will take care of everything since we have commit it to God.

Day 1:
Woke up at 4.15am and waited for Xan En's dad to come and pick us up.Met at church around 5.15 since we are leaving at 5.30am.Wasn't fully excited of the trip (must be the early morning...still blur-blur).Reached LCCT around 6++ and checked in all our lugagges.There goes....The mission trip BEGINS!!! =)....

The team consists 9 of us (Lisa,Marina,Alexis,Grace,Patrick,Cheong Wai,Joel,Poy Sim and myself)
That is a picture taken from the aircraft from KL to Bangkok (2 hours).We also took a transit flight from Bangkok to Chiang Rai (1 hour 20mins).The flight wasn't too bad,no bumpy ride...Smooth flight all da way.When we reach to Chiang Rai,the Agape Home (place where we minister) pastor,Pastor Cheah came and pick us up.Haha,ok~For the first time in my life,i sat at the back of the pick-up truck....at the metal bar.Was so afraid that i might just fall off onto the road.I think Joel took a photo of Cheong Wai and i sitting at the back of it.

Reached our motel around 4++pm (Thailand is 1 hour slower than M'sia).Actually not a bad place to stay in.2 person in a room and my roomate is none other than Pak Poy Sim =).All the basic neccessities are all here.There is even a cable tv as well.The nearest "civilized" store to our motel is 7-11.I have to admit,EVERYDAY without fail...we will pay a visit to 7-11 to get new supply of food each day.Either junkies or drinks or toast bread (my "favourite" food besides the pork noodles we eat every morning)

Ok...Enough of the rooms and the food.Cause later i'm going to talk a bit more on the food as well =).

This is the home where our team is gonna minister for the next 6 days.It is call the Agape Children Home.It consists like 50++ children.The age gap is from 4 - 18 yrs old.If i'm not mistaken,there is like 4 staff's working in this home as well.Imagine~taking care of 50++ children is not an easy task.The concept of taking care is roughly the same as our church Rumah Sayangan.The older brother/sister would take care of the younger one.Wash and iron their clothes.

Ok,the first picture on the left is like a common meeting area for us team.If you can see the cement wall at the bottom of the picture.That is their fish pond,its still not finish yet.Once its done,they will rare fishes in it.So that the home is able to save cost of buying fish from the market.Can you see the "dry grass" roof in the second picture,that is their eating area.At the back of it is their kitchen (would talk more about it later).If you could see at the bottom of the picture,the home also plant their own vegetables as well.When i got to know of their situation a few months before this,it is not an easy lifestyle.They have gone through a lot in their life.As for the third picture,u can consider this as their playground.You can either sit the swing,play badminton/volleyball or do some thai kick-boxing.This is how the younger children spend their time.When we were there,it is during their school holiday time....So,we are able to minister and play with them from morning till night time and none of us ever complain about it.Will share more =).

When the team is here,we not only minister and play with them...Part of the ministry was also to bless them with better food.I realize one thing,Thai ppl LOVESSSSSSSSSSSSS PORK A LOT!!!.Out of the 8 days i'm there,at least one piece of pork have to go into my stomach.Haha~I'll let the following pictures tell the stories.



















Pak Poy Sim~You are the best chef.From the 7 days we are there,each time the dishes he cook will go empty.I'm talking like each of the children would eat like 2-3 rounds.I'm really amaze at Pak Poy Sim =).Thank you so much...When someone cooks with love,you can see it very clearly and he is definitely one of them.Ever ready to bless the children with his cooking even though there are some days he is not feeling too well.

Ok,thats only for Day 1...Hahaha...Would type Day 2 and 3 together.As from all mission trip,there is definitely de-briefing for everyone.By 9pm,all of us are dead tired already.Thank God for the wonderful weather.
